چکیده

For some physics students, the concept of a particle travelling faster than the speed of light holds endless fascination, and Čerenkov radiation is a visible consequence of a charged particle travelling through a medium at locally superluminal velocities. The Heaviside–Feynman equations for calculating the magnetic and electric fields of a moving charge have been known for many decades, but it is only recently that the computing power to plot the fields of such a particle has become readily available for student use. This article investigates and illustrates the calculation of Maxwell’s D field in homogeneous isotropic media for arbitrary, including superluminal, constant velocity, and uses the results as a basis for discussing energy transfer in the electromagnetic field. Investigation of Charged Particles Radiation Moving in a Homogeneous Dispersive Medium (TECHNICAL NOTE)

In this work, we use Drude-Lorents model description to study the radiation of a charged particles moving in a homogeneous dispersive medium. A suitable quantized electromagnetic field for such medium is utilized to obtain proper equations for energy loss of the particle per unit length. The energy loss is separately calculated for transverse and longitudinal components of the filed operators. ...

Melting Heat Transfer and Radiation Effects on Jeffrey Fluid Flow over a Continuously Moving Surface with a Parallel Free Stream

This article is proposed to address the melting heat transfer of a Jeffrey fluid in Blasius and Sakiadis flow caused due to a moving surface. Thermal radiation and a constant free stream are considered in this mathematical model. The non-linear coupled dimensionless equations from the governing equations are attained by employing appropriate similarity transformations. The resulting dimensionle...

Heat generation and radiation effects on steady MHD free convection flow of micropolar fluid past a moving surface

This paper was concerned with studying the magnetohydrodynamic steady laminar free convection flow of a micropolar fluid past a continuously moving surface in the presence of heat generation and thermal radiation. Similarity transformation was employed to transform the governing partial differential equations into ordinary ones, which were then solved numerically using the finite element method...

Calculation of absorbed dose in lung tissue equivalent and compared it with prediction of a treatment planning system using Collapsed Cone Convolution algorithm

External radiotherapy is used for treatment of various types of cancers. Due to the impossibility of measuring the absorbed dose delivered to different organs during irradiation, treatment planning systems (TPSs) have been utilized for calculation of absorbed dose before a radiotherapy procedure. Thus, the accuracy and precession of the TPS is essential. The aim of this study is investigation of...
